Tell us about your upbringing and how it shaped who you are today?

I grew up in a small town in Sweden with three siblings, a mom and dad. We have always been a very tight crew and my parents always allowed us kids to be ourselves and to try whatever we wanted in life! We skied to school on snowy days, biked everywhere on the summers and had a very healthy outdoorsy lifestyle. This definitely stuck with me as a mom because I am working hard on raising strong, loving little humans and both my kids love nothing more than being outside. Rain, snow or shine! “There is no bad weather, only bad clothing” as we say in Sweden.

What have you found to be the biggest challenge in becoming a mom?

To feel like I’m enough. To not feel like a failure and stop listening to all the “good advice”.

How did your life change after you had children?

Everything changed! I don’t know how people can say that their lives didn’t change that much after kids. I have never been this sleep deprived before, that’s for sure! I have full responsibility 24/7 for two human beings who need me 100% - that is a pretty big change. But I have also never felt happier in my entire life. Motherhood flipped my world upside-down and I LOVE every second of it, even when I’m so tired I could cry. Wouldn’t change it for the world.

What the best advice you could give your pre-mom self?

Don’t beat yourself up over the small things. If your kid doesn’t love avocados – it will still turn out OK. You are not a failure.

Tell us about raising kids in Nashville?

Nashville is awesome for families! There are always kid friendly concerts, outdoorsy activities, fun festivals and lots of events for families. I absolutely love it!

What is the best part about raising children?

To watch them grow. To watch them master a skill they have been practicing for a long time. Or simply to hear the words “I love you, Mom”.  Nothing beats that.

Who are the people in your life that support and inspire you?

My parents! They have always been there to support me and my siblings. They are amazing grandparents and would drop everything in their lives if we needed them. They are nothing short of amazing!

Tell us about your job?

I work at Polarn O. Pyret USA as Social Media and PR Manager. I run all the social media channels, work on collaborations, events and create close relationships with influencers. It is so much fun! Every day is different and I love all the new projects and challenges.

What do you love most about what you do?

I don’t have set office hours and every day is different.  I love that I can get my job done from all over the world and every day is a new challenge. I work every single day but can spread it out to fit my family’s schedule. After I pick the kids up from school – I don’t check my phone. We talk, hang out, cook dinner and spend quality time together. It is so important to take some time every day, try to stay off your phone and just be there 100% for the kids (and your partner!). But as soon as they are in bed, you will most definitely find me answering some emails! And when they are at school I drive to the closest Starbucks and work work work. I love working at Starbucks! The busy atmosphere makes me so efficient and I always get new fun ideas there.

Also, as a family we make sure to have family dates every week (no phones allowed!) and most important – the dates with my husband! We made a deal to go on dates every other week in 2017. Best New Years resolution ever made!

What makes you nervous about motherhood?

Everything? Haha. I’m a worry wart! I worry about accidents and bullying and keeping my kids happy and secure in themselves. Just everything!

How do you spend your quiet moments?

I love to go for walks with my pup, yoga, scrolling through new fun vegan recipes, reading up on everything that happens in the world and.. you may find a glass of wine in my hand.
